About RSNTTD

RSNTTD is a non-profit public organization, which unites NDT and TD specialists, who represent the leading domestic and academic institutions, state and supervisory bodies, training and certification centers, accreditation bodies, companies developing and providing NDT equipment, service centers and NDT laboratories. It is a full member of European Federation for Non-Destructive testing (EFNDT), The International Committee for Non-Destructive Testing (ICNDT), Asia Pacific Federation for Non-Destructive Testing (APFNDT).

The main objective of RSNTTD is development and implementation of methods and techniques of non-destructive testing and technical diagnostics with a view to improving the quality of industrial products, increasing the safety of production facilities, diagnosing and preventing environmental, terrorist and other types of emergencies.

The recorded history of the Russian Society for Non-Destructive Testing can be started with a reference to the fact that in 1937 the first All-Soviet Union Conference on the methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) was held under the chairmanship of the academician V. F. Mitkevich. The following events should be mentioned as equally significant:

The founding congress of the Soviet Society for Non-Destructive Testing (SSNDT), which adopted the organization charter and approved the organization structure, was held in September of 1989. V.V. Kluev, the CEO of MNPO “Spektr” and an associate member of the Academy of Sciences, was elected as president of the SSNT.

Russian Society for Non-Destructive Testing and Technical Diagnostics (RSNTTD) is the legal successor to SSNT in terms of its obligations to the members of the Society and contracts for professional cooperation with national societies of other countries.

On November 15, 1996, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation registered RSNTTD as an All-Russian organization with regional branches in more than half of the subjects of the Russian Federation, the main functions of which include informing the regional professional associations about the work of the RSNTTD, searching and recruiting candidates willing to become new members and partners of RSNTTD and examining their applications; organization of distribution of magazines and promotional materials among RSNTTD regional members and partners; organization of general meetings of the branches (at least once a year)
